Sun Valley High School, home of the Vanguards, is proud to educate over 1150 students in grades nine through twelve. The high school offers many academic, technical, business, music and arts program as well as a full array of extra-curricular activities. All of the academic courses are college prep.
Sun Valley High School offers 15 approved Advanced Placement courses in the core subject areas, foreign language and the arts. Students may attend Delaware County Technical Schools campus in either Folcroft or Aston for specific technical courses offered in a two year/half day sequence. Over 90% of the graduating students continue their education in post-secondary colleges, universities or technical schools.
Our recently renovated building includes many updates to the technology in the building. This includes the use of wireless technology, smart boards, laptops and projectors. The SVHS teachers are trained in the Classrooms for the Future and implement 21 Century teaching and learning skills in their classrooms.
Meeting the needs of the students, student support services include the Student Assistance program, Alternative Education, mental health counselor in addition to the five SVHS guidance counselors.
