DOCUMENT 00 11 13 – ADVERTISEMENT TO BID
1.1 PROJECT INFORMATION
A. Notice: Qualified bidders are invited to submit proposals for Project as described in this Document according to the Instructions to Bidders.
B. Project Identification: Sun Valley High School – Summer 2017 Renovations
1. Project Location: 2881 Pancoast Ave, Aston, PA 19014.
C. Owner: Penn Delco School District, 2821 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014.
1. Owner's Representative: Brian Datte, Director of Facilities.
D. Architect: MAROTTA/MAIN ARCHITECTS, 214 North Duke Street, Lancaster, PA 17602
E. Project Description: Project consists of classroom wing and kitchen/cafeteria renovations at Sun Valley High School.
F. Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work:
1. General Building Construction.
2. Mechanical Construction.
3. Plumbing Construction, to include sprinkler system.
4. Electrical Construction.
1.2 BID SUBMITTAL AND OPENING
A. Owner will receive sealed proposals until the time and date at the location indicated below. Owner will consider proposals prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows:
1. Bid Date: March 29, 2017
2. Bid Time: 2:00 p.m., local time.
3. Location: District Admin Office, 2821 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014.
B. Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud.
1.3 BID SECURITY
A. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 10% percent of the proposal amount. No proposal may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposal and to waive informalities and irregularities.
1.4 PREBID CONFERENCE
A. A mandatory pre-bid conference for all bidders will be held at 2881 Pancoast Ave, Aston, PA 19014 on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 3:00 p.m., local time. Prospective bidders are required to visit project site. Following this meeting-all attendance will meet at the project site, which will fulfill the required site visit.
A. Printed Bid Documents: Obtain on or after March 3, 2017 by contacting the Architect. Documents will be provided to prime bidders only; only complete sets of documents will be issued.
1. Deposit: $150.00 refundable to contractors submitting a valid bid. (Please make checks payable to “Penn Delco School District”.)
2. Shipping: Additional shipping charges will apply.
B. Viewing Bid Documents: Examine after March 3, 2017 at the office of the Architect:

Lancaster, PA 17602
C. Any Prime Contractor that intends to bid the project through receipt of documents from sources other than the Architect, must notify the Architect’s Office of their intent to bid.
1.6 TIME OF COMPLETION
A. Successful bidders shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Work is subject to liquidated damages.
1. All work shall be substantially completed by August 25, 2017.
2. Full and final completion shall be by September 1, 2017.
1.7 BIDDER'S QUALIFICATIONS
A. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, a separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder.
